Private Combined ADHD & Autism (AuDHD) Assessment (UK)
Enquire for full pathway details, package options, and fees confirmed after triage.
Tools may include: ADI-R · ADOS-2 · Conners / ASD screening · DIVA-5
Private AuDHD assessments, or combined ADHD and autism assessments, are increasingly sought when co-occurring ADHD and autism may both be relevant. AuDHD — ADHD and autistic traits showing up together — is now more widely recognised, but it still sits awkwardly in systems built around single-diagnosis pathways. People describe contradictory pressures: needing novelty yet melting down in transitions; hyperfocusing while battling sensory overload; masking socially while feeling restless internally; feeling partially understood by one diagnosis while important gaps remain.
A combined assessment can reduce repeated storytelling, minimise contradictory conclusions from disconnected providers, and explicitly map overlap: where attention difficulties are ADHD-shaped, where communication and sensory patterns fit autism formulation, and where the two interact — for example in regulation, executive functioning, sensory processing, masking, and patterns such as anxiety, shutdown, demand avoidance, or burnout cycles.
Neurodiverse You delivers AuDHD assessment as one coordinated pathway with parallel evidence gathering: structured ADHD evaluation alongside autism-focused interviewing, with in-person ADOS-2, full informant work, and wider multidisciplinary contribution added at the package levels that include them. Our pathways are evidence-informed, aligned with relevant NICE guidance, and use recognised, gold-standard tools where clinically indicated — including DIVA-5-informed ADHD assessment, ADI-R-informed developmental interviewing, standardised questionnaires, informant input, and ADOS-2. Each package sets out the depth of assessment clearly, so complexity is matched without unnecessary burden.
We remain mindful that combined assessment is not automatically “better” for everyone. If your question is narrowly ADHD or narrowly autism, standalone services may fit — triage exists to keep recommendations ethical and clinically proportionate.
Reporting aims for clarity without flattening nuance: where criteria are met for one or both profiles, conclusions say so plainly; where formulation is complicated by trauma, mood, sleep, anxiety, sensory differences, or developmental history, that is named rather than ignored. The goal is a document you can use with GPs, schools, colleges, universities, employers, and clinicians — and a narrative that supports self-understanding.
Start with an enquiry. We will confirm suitability, outline timelines and fees, and help you choose the package depth that matches your situation, whether you are seeking an adult or adolescent AuDHD assessment.
AuDHD is not simply "ADHD plus autism." It is a co-occurring neurodevelopmental profile where attention, sensory processing, routine, social communication, emotional regulation, executive functioning, and masking can pull in different directions. Many people reach us after one diagnosis made sense, but still left important gaps. We bring the evidence together carefully so the whole profile can be understood with depth, context, and clinical care.
Does this feel familiar?
-
You recognise yourself in both ADHD and autism descriptions, but neither profile alone seems to explain the whole picture.
-
Your attention may feel scattered or difficult to direct, yet you can become deeply absorbed in highly meaningful interests for long periods.
-
You may seek novelty, stimulation, or movement, while also finding new environments sensorily or socially overwhelming.
-
Routines may help you feel regulated, but they can also feel restrictive, hard to sustain, or difficult to restart once disrupted.
-
You may mask or perform socially, then experience a significant cognitive, sensory, or emotional crash afterwards.
-
Emotional, sensory, and executive demands may pull in different directions at the same time, making regulation feel harder to maintain.
-
One diagnosis may have helped, but still left parts of your experience unexplained, or confusing.
-
Medication, therapy, coaching or strategies may help only partially or inconsistently when the full AuDHD profile has not been understood.
-
You may move between executive shutdown, restless searching, and periods of intense focused output.
-
Standard descriptions of ADHD or autism may not fully fit, because your profile contains features of both and the interaction between them matters.
These experiences do not confirm AuDHD on their own. A full assessment helps us understand whether ADHD, autism, both, or other overlapping factors best explain your developmental history, current functioning, strengths, challenges, and support needs.
What to expect from your assessment
AuDHD assessment is one joined-up pathway: we gather ADHD-specific and autism-specific evidence in parallel, then bring it together in a single formulation. Some steps vary by package — see the badges on each step.
-
Step 01
Initial screening
We review screening information to see whether a combined ADHD and autism assessment is appropriate and to plan next steps safely. This typically includes measures of autistic traits (for example AQ-50) alongside ADHD indicators (for example ASRS or Conners-style screening where indicated).
-
Step 02
Combined screening questionnaires
You complete standardised self-report measures for both presentations (for example AQ-50, CAT-Q, ASRS, DIVA-5 where indicated), plus combined pre-interview questionnaires — including from a primary informant where relevant — so we understand strengths, differences, and impact across settings.
-
Step 03
ADHD-focused clinical evaluation
Structured ADHD-focused assessment explores attention, impulsivity, hyperactivity, executive functioning, and developmental history relevant to ADHD. These elements are typically delivered online.
-
Step 04
Autism clinical interview (ADI-R informed)
An in-depth interview explores communication, social reciprocity, sensory experience, routines, interests, and masking — guided by ADI-R principles. This appointment is typically held online.
-
Step 05
Full ADI-R informant interview (with ADHD informant input)
Comprehensive+Where included in your package, we complete the full Autism Diagnostic Interview–Revised (ADI-R) with appropriate informants, alongside ADHD-relevant informant input — so developmental history and cross-setting patterns are captured to gold-standard depth. Sessions are usually conducted online.
-
Step 06
ADOS-2 observation (in person)
Enhanced+Where included in your package, we use the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule, Second Edition (ADOS-2) — structured activities and conversation tailored to your age — completed face to face at one of our associate clinic locations (module appropriate to age).
-
Step 07
Psychiatrist review and MDT
Multidisciplinary+At this package level our consultant psychiatrist reviews the assessment material alongside the wider clinical team (multidisciplinary discussion), contributing to formulation and medication considerations where relevant.
-
Step 08
Joined-up formulation, differentiation, and report
We integrate ADHD and autism evidence, differentiate overlapping features (for example attention, social communication, and regulation), and consider co-occurring difficulties. You receive a full written report; higher packages may add a professional summary, educational summary, and psychiatrist report as described in your package.
-
Step 09
Feedback session
Comprehensive+We meet with you (and significant others if appropriate) to discuss findings, how ADHD and autism intersect for you, recommendations, and next steps.
-
Optional
Sensory and cognitive profiling
Where clinically helpful, we add structured exploration of sensory processing and cognitive profile to clarify strengths, needs, and reasonable adjustments — by clinical indication or on request.
-
Optional
Differential and co-occurring conditions review
We consider anxiety, mood, trauma, sleep, and other conditions that can overlap with or mimic ADHD and autism — so conclusions are accurate and useful.

What affects the price
- Package depth — Core through Most comprehensive add successively more (full ADI-R with informants for both profiles, feedback meeting, in-person ADOS-2, full consultant psychiatrist review, post-diagnostic support).
- Age band — Adolescent pathways include additional informant and educational-report work and are priced slightly higher than adult equivalents.
- Dual-track evidence — We gather ADHD-specific and autism-specific evidence in parallel; depth of informant work and reporting increases with package.
- In-person ADOS-2 — Enhanced and above include structured observation at an associate clinic where included in your package.
- Optional add-ons — Workplace or school reports, standalone ASD assessment for a family member, ADHD coaching, and parent guidance are priced separately.
Final fees are confirmed at triage, once we know which package and add-ons fit your situation.

Common questions
How much does a combined AuDHD assessment cost?
Our adult combined AuDHD packages start at £1,800 (Core) and range up to £4,100 (Most comprehensive). Adolescent pathways start at £2,200 and go up to £4,450. Most clients choose Comprehensive (from £2,450), which adds full ADI-R with dual informant interviews and a feedback meeting. Enhanced and above include in-person ADOS-2 and a psychiatrist report. Final fees are confirmed at triage.
Should I have a single combined assessment, or assess ADHD and autism separately?
If both are live questions for you, a single joined-up pathway usually gives the clearest picture: one team, one timeline, and explicit attention to overlap. If you only want one condition explored, our standalone ADHD or autism services may fit better — we can discuss at triage.
What if I already have one diagnosis (ADHD or autism) — can I add the other?
Yes. We take a full history and may use existing reports, but we still complete a thorough assessment for the additional profile so conclusions are current and defensible. Tell us what you already have when you enquire.
Is the report one combined document or two separate diagnoses?
You receive a coherent report that addresses both presentations and how they interact. Where criteria are met, conclusions are clearly stated for each; where not, we explain what we did find and what might help next.
How do you tell ADHD apart from autism when symptoms overlap (focus, social, behaviour)?
We do not rely on a single measure. We use developmental history, pattern of difficulties across settings, structured interviews, questionnaires, and (where included) observation — then we weigh alternative explanations. The goal is a formulation that fits you, not a checklist score.
Will an ADOS-2 in person be required for AuDHD?
Not in every package. Core and Comprehensive focus on interview and questionnaire evidence across both profiles; Enhanced and above add in-person ADOS-2 where included. We confirm what is clinically indicated and what your package includes at triage.
Will the AuDHD pathway take longer than a single-condition assessment?
Usually yes, because we are gathering and integrating two lines of evidence. Timelines depend on your package, informant availability, and clinic dates for ADOS-2 where included. After screening we give a clearer estimate.
What is the difference between Core, Comprehensive, Enhanced, and Multidisciplinary for AuDHD?
Core includes dual-track screening, combined questionnaires, ADI-R-informed autism interview, ADHD evaluation, and a full diagnostic report. Comprehensive adds complete ADI-R with full informant interviews for both profiles, a formal feedback meeting, and dual reporting. Enhanced adds in-person ADOS-2 and triple reporting including a psychiatrist report contribution. Multidisciplinary adds full consultant psychiatrist review and specialised reporting for complex presentations and medication considerations. Compare features and prices in the packages above.
What if you conclude I have one of the conditions but not both?
You still receive a clear account of what we observed, what was considered, and practical next steps — including support, signposting, or further assessment if needed. The aim is an honest formulation that helps you move forward.
Can NDY help with medication after an AuDHD assessment?
NDY does not currently prescribe ADHD medication directly. Where medication may be helpful, we have direct links to prescribers and can support you to understand the next steps after assessment. Prescribing and monitoring are managed by the prescribing clinician.
